Vintage Silver Salt Spoon with Genuine Coral Handle

The spoon features a masterfully cast scallop shell bowl, accented by delicate silver foliage and grapes where the bowl meets the handle. 
The handle is a single, striking branch of natural red coral, retaining its organic "oxblood" colour and unique textured growth patterns.

This spoon’s design is inspired by the legendary 16th-century collection of Elector Augustus of Saxony. In 1579, Augustus began acquiring one of the largest-known sets of coral-handled cutlery, believing the material held protective properties. Today, examples of this style are preserved in the world-famous Green Vault in Dresden. This modern Italian sterling silver version allows you to own a slice of that "Cabinet of Curiosities" aesthetic.
