Hand‑crafted from crushed/ground marble, this delightful figurine is part of the Biccard Collection, created by South African artist John Biccard (1941‑2006).
Originating from Cape Town, Biccard studied in Europe and later returned to South Africa, where he produced a small number of whimsical sculptures from the early 1970s until 1999, when production ceased. Each piece was lovingly hand-finished and signed by the artist himself.
These sculptural figures are now considered highly collectible.

Finished with subtle shading to evoke natural marble - yet lightweight and tactile.

Great vintage condition - a chip at the side base, which is barely noticeable (please refer to last photo), light surface patina consistent with age.
