Vintage 1930s liquid satin Wedding Gown in rich Champagne colour that comes with a beautiful storing Dress Box.
High neckline with Peter Pan style collar.
Dramatic mutton sleeves that come to a point, there is a small split at the cuff and an air loop for button fastening, however button at the the cuff is missing. I wasn't adding buttons to the cuffs, as cuffs fit tight, however if you would like to add buttons, please let me know and I will send you photos of the suitable buttons that could be attached to the cuffs.
Inside the sleeves there are attached two elastic bands (each sleeve) that helps to shape mutton sleeves.
The front panel is made from a beautiful lace with large flower ornament. It is lined with a matching colour semi sheer cotton.
The seam at the bust area is very slightly ruffled.
Back of the dress features a nineteen satin covered buttons closure at the back centre top (three of which are placed at the collar) and a 5,5cm length split.
There are inserted two pieces of the waistband in the side seams, which closes at the back on two snap buttons.
Train features a bias seam prolonging it and a finger loop for ease of walking.
The dress is unlined, all seam allowances (as much, as it was possible to do) were overlocked to prevent crumbling. The elastic bands at the inner of the sleeves were replaced with new.
The gown includes also a wonderful storing box that is upholstered with the gorgeous tapestry fabric (please refer to the photos of the box).
Measurements: All measurements are taken flat. The gown is bias cut, so it has some stretch, however I would recommend not to exceed the below measurements more than by 1cm-2cm, as dresses of this silhouette looks more complementary when fits a bit loose, to provide the soft moving of the fabric.
Neck circumference - 41,5cm
Shoulders seam to seam (measuring at the back) - 32cm
Sleeve length (measuring from the neck point) - 76,7cm to the cuff point
Cuff circumference (closed both on all satin covered buttons and button snap) - 18cm
Bust (armpit point) - 89cm
Waist - 71cm
Hips - 95cm
CF Length - 136cm
Train + 70cm
Condition: very good vintage condition. There are some scuffs here and there (few at the front and back skirt that I showed at the photos).
One very faint tiny brownish mark underarm (not visible when worn).
There is some faint brownish discolouration at the lower parts of the front and back skirt, which could be seen only under certain angle and light.
Overall, for its age of more than 80 years, the gown is in beautiful condition - it has timeless design and gives you this glamorous Old Hollywood vibe and, what is more important, it is absolutely wearable.
The gown is hand washed and ready for shipping. I would recommend a professional dry cleaning that, most probably, would be able to remove discolouration completely.
