Step back into the romanticism of the 19th century with this authentic Victorian ring, c. 1870s.
This piece features a natural turquoise cabochon accented by delicate natural seed pearls.
In the Victorian language of jewellery, this combination was often given as a token of affection and remembrance: turquoise represented "forget-me-not" (remembrance), while pearls symbolised purity or tears of joy.
The stones are set in a warm, low-carat gold (tested as below 9k), which gives the ring a lovely, soft rosy-yellow glow that only comes with genuine age.
Great antique condition - light wear consistent with age and use. There is a metal patch at the back of the ring, added at some point for reinforcement, which suggests it was well loved and very valuable to its previous owner.
Hallmarks - as is common with many genuine Victorian pieces, this ring is unmarked. It has been tested for gold content (low carat gold, below 9k).
