Antique Victorian Diamond and Pearl Brooch

A stunning and highly detailed antique brooch dating to the late 19th century, crafted in the elegant naturalistic style of the Victorian era, c. 1870s.
This exceptional piece is made from a traditional combination of silver and gold, with the diamonds set in silver to enhance their brilliance and the reverse finished in warm high-carat gold.

The brooch features an impressive 192 rose-cut diamonds delicately set into graceful leaf and scroll motifs. 
At the centre sits a beautiful silvery pearl measuring approximately 11 mm in diameter, surrounded by a halo of 14 sparkling diamonds (approx. 0.05 ct each). Three slightly larger diamonds accent the lower part of the design (approx. 0.09 ct, 0.10 ct, and 0.15 ct), adding subtle movement and brilliance.

The design resembles a blooming floral or feathered spray, with beautifully pierced and hand-crafted metalwork typical of fine European jewellery from the late Victorian period.

The brooch comes in its original antique fitted jewellery case from Branca de Brito, Lisbon, the historic jeweller where it was originally purchased by its previous owner.

This is a remarkable collector’s piece combining superb craftsmanship, antique character, and timeless elegance.

Hallmarks - the brooch bears two Portuguese hallmarks, including the rooster’s head mark (used between 1938 to 1985), although these may have been applied later when the jewel was assayed in Portugal. 

Excellent antique condition - the pin and clasp are secure; all stones appear original and intact. Please note, the piece was not polished, or cleaned to keep original patina as a proof of age; might require a gentle cleaning, or polishing.
