Antique and rare German jasper ware tea set made by Schafer and Vater, one of the Rudolstadt companies and dates back to c.1896.
The represented tea set includes: teapot with lid - 1pc, sugar bowl with lid - 1pc. coffee/tea cup with saucer - 1pc.
To be sold as a set and not separately.
The outside is colored pink bisque with a green tinge. The inside is glazed pink. The teapot is a demitasse size, and intended to serve only 1-2 people. On the sides there are white beautiful cameos relief against green & blue background. Cameos are surrounded by large jewelled/enamelled glazed beads to simulate a semi-precious stones. More of these beads are on the lids and saucer.
To the areas around cameos and rims there is added green tinge as a highlight and it is original to the pieces.
Almost great condition - the gold trim shows some wear, on the cup there is a crack at the joint line (please refer to the last photo). Other than that great condition for pieces that are more than 100 years old.
