This antique bracelet is a wonderful example of 20th century (c.1920s) Egyptian Revival jewellery, full of character and history.
It features seven carved faces of pharaohs or sphinxes, each carefully detailed with strong features and the distinctive headpiece.
Every face is slightly different, giving the bracelet an artisanal, one-of-a-kind feel.
The carvings are mounted in silver settings with a scalloped edge, connected by double chains, and finished with a dangling charm face that adds movement when worn.
Time has given the carved faces a soft patina, which enhances their depth and character.
It sits beautifully on the wrist and immediately draws the eye with its unusual design.
The silver mounts are unmarked but test as silver. The spring clasp looks like it was a later replacement of original closure.
Egyptian-inspired jewellery became especially popular after the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb, and this bracelet carries on that fascination with ancient motifs in a wearable and striking way.
This bracelet is not only jewellery, but also a piece of cultural history - it reflects both the long tradition of Egyptian artistry and the mid-century love of revival styles. It’s perfect for a collector of Egyptian Revival pieces, someone who loves jewellery with a story, or anyone who wants to wear something truly distinctive.
No hallmarks present, tested as silver.
Great vintage condition - light wear appropriate for its age, the clasp is secure.
