Capture the glamour of the Jazz Age with this exquisite vintage powder compact.
Featuring a mesmerising sunburst guilloché pattern beneath a layer of delicate blush blush pink enamel, this piece is a testament to the sophisticated vanity accessories of the early 20th century.

The exterior showcases a "sunburst" or "engine-turned" pattern that catches the light beautifully through the translucent blush pink enamel.
The borders are accented with a finely chased gold-tone Greek key or geometric pattern.

Interior opens to reveal a clear original mirror and a mechanical inner lid.
The inner lid features vertical engine-turned stripes and the hallmark "METDORÉ" alongside a maker’s mark "A・B" (likely for Auguste Bon - he was a premier French maker of silver and high-end vanity items based in Paris. He was active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with his mark being registered around 1892).

This is a "loose powder" compact. The inner lid features a sliding mechanism or rotating sifter (indicated by the circular aperture) and a series of pin-holes for dispensing powder.

Good antique condition - the enamel remains vibrant. There is some surface wear at the back of the compact and at the side rim (please refer to the photos), which is common for enamel of this age. The original mirror is intact with minor de-silvering (vintage foxing), adding to its authentic antique character. Beautiful aged patina to the gilding. The hinge and clasp are in good working order, snapping shut securely.
