A curated group of five antique and vintage egg pendants inspired by the rich tradition of Easter eggs and miniature jewellery, c. 1875.
These pieces reflect a mix of craftsmanship techniques including guilloché enamel, cloisonné enamel, and carved hardstone.
In the Russian Empire, gifting eggs at Easter symbolised renewal and new life. By the 19th century, this tradition evolved into finely crafted pendants made of enamel, silver, and stones - small but meaningful gifts exchanged as tokens of affection. Even simpler examples reflect this enduring custom - objects that were both decorative and sentimental, often given as tokens of affection, faith, and celebration.
