Absolutely gorgeous Vintage 1930's silk satin Wedding Gown in soft ivory colour that comes with a beautiful storing Dress Box.
Soft collapsing stand collar, featuring beautiful flower appliqué.
Long slim sleeves, featuring two elbow darts and closing on five satin covered buttons, forming an inverted box pleat at the cuff area. On the inner sleeve seam cuff has a small split and closes with a snap button. Satin covered buttons and/or snap button could be opened to enlarge cuff circumference.
Two inserted upwards pointed panels (at the front and back of the dress) and very slightly ruffled seam at the bust area.
LHS snap buttons hidden closure at the side seam.
Back of the dress features a four satin covered buttons closure at the back centre top and a 22cm length split.
Three flowers applique features each pointed edge of the back panels.
Train features a bias seam prolonging it and a finger loop for ease of walking.
The dress is unlined, all seam allowances (as much, as it was possible to do) were overlocked to prevent crumbling.
The gown also includes a wonderful storing box that is upholstered with the gorgeous tapestry fabric (please refer to the photos of the box).
Measurements: All measurements are taken flat. The gown is bias cut, so it has some stretch, however I would recommend not to exceed the below measurements more than by 1cm-2cm, as dresses of this silhouette looks more complementary when fits a bit loose, to provide the soft moving of the fabric.
Colar stand - 6,5cm
Neck circumference - 38,5cm
Shoulders seam to seam (measuring at the back) - 35cm
Sleeve length (measuring from the neck point) - 69,5cm
Cuff circumference (closed both on all satin covered buttons and button snap) - 15cm
Bust (armpit point) - 88cm
Waist - 67cm
Hips - 78cm
CF Length - 139cm
Train + 95,5cm
Condition: very good vintage condition. There is one small area of repair at the RHS armpit which is not visible while wearing. There are some very faint under arm marks (common issue for vintage garments), which are visible inclose and under some point of light, when dress is worn, the marks are hardly visible. There are some water marks at the front and back of the skirt - this could be seen under certain angle (mostly when you look at the dress down from above), however the fabric is shiny and when worn and in movement you can't notice it. There is one needle head size hole at the front skirt and two of the same size at the train, also some scuffs here and there (nothing large that catches attention).
I've tried to make photos of these issues (please refer to last photos), however underarm and water marks are really hard to catch on camera.
Overall, for its age of more than 80 years, the gown is in beautiful condition - it has timeless, classy design, art deco glamour vibe and, what is more important, it is absolutely wearable.
The gown is hand washed and ready for shipping. I would recommend a professional dry cleaning that, most probably, would be able to remove underarm and water marks completely.
